Alleged Coup Plot Uncovered in Nigeria, Suspects Purchase 32 SUVs for Covert Operations

Nigerian investigators have revealed details of an alleged coup plot against President Bola Tinubu's administration. The investigation uncovered the purchase of 32 SUVs and golf cars to facilitate covert activities, including discreet movement and intelligence gathering.

A retired major general identified as Adamu is allegedly part of the network involved, with some suspects evading arrest, including one traced to a South American country. Multiple security agencies are collaborating to dismantle the remaining cells associated with the plot.

Additionally, at least 25 military personnel are expected to face trial in a court martial for their alleged involvement in the coup attempt. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Department of State Services (DSS) are also investigating civilian roles in funding, logistics, and coordination of the plot.
