DSS Arraigns Chidiebere Justice Mark for Cybercrime

Chidiebere Justice Mark, also known as Justice Crack, was arraigned by the Department of State Services (DSS) at the Federal High Court in Abuja on three counts related to cybercrime. The charges stem from accusations that he circulated false information via social media, which allegedly caused public unrest regarding the Nigerian Army's operations.

The presiding judge, Justice Joyc Abdulmalik, addressed a bail application from Mark's lawyer, Marshal Abubakar, but no ruling was made on the bail request. The court subsequently adjourned the matter to May 25, 2026, and ordered Mark to be remanded in DSS custody.

The charges include publishing a viral video that purportedly contained derogatory statements about the Nigerian Army, which led to widespread negative public reaction and fear of a breach of peace, violating sections of the Cybercrime Prohibition and Prevention Act of 2015 and the Criminal Code Act.
