Prosecution Begins Case Against Influencer Justice Chidiebere

The Federal High Court in Abuja has commenced proceedings against social media influencer Justice Chidiebere, also known as Justice Crack, who faces three counts of alleged cybercrime. Chidiebere pleaded not guilty to the charges during the initial hearing presided over by Justice Joyc Abdulmalik.

The prosecution's first witness, Oronto Douglas, presented evidence including an audio and video recording related to the case, which was downloaded onto a flash drive. The defense counsel raised concerns regarding the verification of the flash drive's content, arguing that the prosecution had not applied to the court for appropriate playback devices to verify the evidence.

Justice Abdulmalik noted the defense's objections but allowed the prosecution to continue. The matter has been adjourned to September 28, and the court granted bail conditions previously established, which the prosecution did not object to.
