KC Luxury Challenges Court Order on Property Preservation

Afolabi Michael Kazeem, also known as KC Luxury, has challenged the jurisdiction of the Federal High Court in Lagos regarding an interim order that preserved his properties. Kazeem, who is on trial for an alleged 184.5kg cocaine trafficking operation and money laundering, claims that the proceedings violated his constitutional right to fair hearing.
His counsel, Chief Emefo Etudo, argued that the court's jurisdiction should be determined before addressing other applications related to the matter. Etudo stated that he only became aware of the interim order a few days prior and had to file an objection urgently.
He contended that the order was obtained without giving Kazeem an opportunity to be heard, violating Section 36 of the 1999 Constitution. The prosecution, represented by Abu Ibrahim from the NDLEA, stated that the matter was scheduled for a report of compliance with the order issued on September 25, 2026.
Justice Musa Kakaki indicated that he would hear the jurisdictional challenge alongside other applications.
