U.S. Congress Submits Report on Nigeria's Christian Persecution

On Monday, a U.S. Congress panel, led by Congressman Riley Moore, submitted a comprehensive report to President Donald Trump regarding the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

This report, stemming from a bipartisan investigation, includes findings from a fact-finding mission to Nigeria, where the delegation engaged with victims of terrorism and Nigerian government officials, including National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu. The report outlines specific recommendations such as establishing a bilateral U.S.-Nigeria security agreement, dismantling jihadist networks, and withholding certain U.S. funds until the Nigerian government takes demonstrable action to stop violence against Christians.

It also calls for sanctions and visa restrictions against individuals and groups complicit in religious persecution. Congressman Moore emphasized the need for the U.S. to deepen its relationship with Nigeria to address security challenges and protect vulnerable Christian communities.
