IPOB Alleged Terror Suspect Exposes Sponsors in Video

A video emerged showing a man dressed in military camouflage, claiming to be affiliated with the Biafra Revolutionary Army, which is linked to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). The individual alleged that local political figures from Orlu, Imo State, are financing and supplying weapons to the group.

He argued that these politicians manipulate narratives to protect their careers, turning against the men on the ground. The speaker called for international attention to the situation in Southeast Nigeria, asserting that the Biafra Revolutionary Army is not a terrorist organization.

The IPOB, founded in 2012 by Nnamdi Kanu, seeks to restore the Republic of Biafra, a secessionist movement with roots in the Nigerian Civil War (1967-1970). Despite the war ending decades ago, feelings of political and economic marginalization persist in the region, leading to the rise of pro-Biafra groups.

In 2017, a Nigerian court officially designated IPOB as a terrorist organization, while Kanu remains imprisoned facing terrorism-related charges.
