Three Arrested for Murder of Ex-OGTV Broadcaster in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of former Ogun State Television broadcaster Olakitan Oyesiku and her security guard Pelumi Adetayo. The arrests were disclosed by State Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni during a press briefing at the command headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, on Thursday.

Oyesiku and Adetayo were found dead at Oyesiku's residence in the Owod Egba area on June 21. Preliminary investigations indicated that the front door showed signs of forced entry.

A Lexus RX 330 vehicle belonging to Oyesiku was reported missing from the premises. Following intelligence gathering and forensic analysis, the vehicle was recovered on June 22, and a handwritten note found at the crime scene provided critical evidence.

The principal suspect, Sodeind Olajuwon Philip, was arrested on June 24 at a construction site in Abeokuta and confessed to the crime, implicating two accomplices, Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola and Sobu Obafunsho, who were also arrested. The motive behind the attack was reportedly to "teach a lesson" stemming from grievances during their employment as security personnel.
