Ex-AGF Malami, Son, and Lady Remanded in Prison Over N9bn Fraud Allegations

The Federal High Court in Abuja remanded former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami, his son Abdulaziz Malami, and a lady named Hajia Asabe Bashir in prison over alleged N9bn fraud charges brought by the EFCC. The accused face 16 counts of economic and financial crimes, including conspiracy, concealment of proceeds of unlawful activities, and money laundering.

The case involves the acquisition of luxury properties in Abuja, Kebbi, and Kano. Another lawyer, Jibrin Okutepa, has also filed a suit claiming funds acquired unlawfully.

The bail hearing is scheduled for January 2nd.
