Former AGF Abubakar Malami Remanded in N9bn Fraud Case

The former Attorney General of Nigeria, Abubakar Malami, his son Abdulaziz Malami, and an employee of Rahamaniyya Properties Limited, Hajia Asabe Bashir, have been remanded in custody by a Federal High Court in Abuja over an alleged N9bn fraud case. The charges include conspiracy, concealment of proceeds of unlawful activities, and economic and financial crimes.

The case involves accusations of acquiring funds unlawfully to purchase luxury properties in Abuja, Kebbi, and Kano. The defendants have pleaded not guilty, and the court has adjourned the hearing for a bail application.
