Alleged One-Chance Robbers Apprehended in Abuja, FCT Police Commend Residents' Vigilance

On January 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM, the Utako Police Division in Abuja received information about an incident where an angry crowd had apprehended and assaulted two alleged One-Chance robbers. The suspects, identified as Kefa Akay and Uya Ugwower, were rescued by the FCT Police Command.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects, part of a four-man gang, were involved in robbery activities across the FCT and Nasarawa State. Two other gang members, Mari Aisha and an escapee, were also identified.

The FCT Police Command commended residents for their vigilance but strongly condemned jungle justice and mob violence, urging the public to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station. Efforts are ongoing to track down and arrest the fleeing suspects to ensure justice is served.
