Arewa Think Tank Urges Due Process on PFIPC Investigation

The Arewa Think Tank (ATT), led by convener Muhammad Alhaji Yakubu, has called on opposition groups to allow due process in the ongoing investigation into the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC) accounts. Yakubu described calls for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s resignation as “premature,” emphasizing that the matter is currently before the courts and being investigated by the House of Representatives.

He urged Nigerians to refrain from politicizing the issue and to let the judicial and legislative processes determine the facts. The ATT's response comes amid opposition leaders' demands for President Tinubu to resign due to conflicting submissions from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation and the Central Bank of Nigeria regarding the PFIPC accounts.

Yakubu asserted that no individual or institution should be condemned until investigations are concluded, reinforcing the principle of due process as fundamental to democracy. He also welcomed international recognition of Nigeria's security efforts, referencing commendations from U.S.
