NCAOOSC Addresses 2026 Budget Concerns on Education Projects

The National Commission for Almajiri Education (NCAOOSC) responded to concerns about specific projects included in the 2026 budget that appear to exceed its statutory mandate. Nura Muhammad, the commission's spokesperson, clarified that the projects incorporated into the budget are aligned with long-standing federal budgeting practices and are assigned to various ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) for execution.

The commission emphasized its commitment to executing its responsibilities in strict compliance with existing financial regulations and procurement processes. NCAOOSC reiterated its dedication to reforming the almajiri education system, aiming to expand access to quality education for vulnerable children.

The commission has identified 700,000 school children and established 119 learning centers nationwide. It remains focused on addressing the challenges faced by almajiri school children and ensuring that every Nigerian child has access to quality educational opportunities.
