Wike Questions Amaechi's Motives in Election Protest

Nyesom Wike, the current governor of Rivers State, criticized former governor Rotimi Amaechi for participating in a protest advocating for the electronic transmission of election results. Wike questioned the sincerity of Amaechi's involvement, suggesting it was a blatant attempt to manipulate public emotions and mislead the youth.

He highlighted that Amaechi's sudden advocacy contradicted his previous opposition to electoral reforms. Wike emphasized the importance of genuine leadership and urged students at the University of Abuja to remain vigilant against political manipulation.

He asserted that the dividends of democracy cannot be found in protest slogans but through hard work and the building of resilient institutions.
