Dr. Gabriel Pidomson Wins ADC Governorship Primary in Rivers

Dr. Gabriel Pidomson emerged victorious in the African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship primary held in Rivers State, receiving 112,068 votes across 23 local government areas.

He defeated five other aspirants, with Sekont Davi coming in second with 16,872 votes and Farah Dagogo of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) placing third with 2,369 votes. The results were officially declared by Carol Obaro, the chairman of the ADC primary election committee, at the party's secretariat in Port Harcourt on Saturday night.

Pidomson, who previously served as a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly representing Gokana constituency from 2003 to 2007 and later as Secretary to the State Government (SSG) from June to October 2007, has now been declared the ADC gubernatorial candidate for the upcoming election scheduled for May 22, 2026.
