Amapakabo Urges Abia Warriors to Defeat Rivers United
Imama Amapakabo, the head coach of Abia Warriors, has called on his players to secure a win against Rivers United on Sunday, October 11, in a Matchday Eight fixture of the 2026/2027 Euromatch Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). The match will take place at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba.
Amapakabo stressed that winning is crucial for closing the gap at the top of the league table, where Rivers United currently sits second with 15 points, just one point behind league leaders Rangers International. He noted that Rivers United's unbeaten record serves as motivation for his team.
Amapakabo acknowledged the need for improvement in his team's performance, particularly after their 3-1 defeat to Rangers International, which exposed defensive weaknesses. He plans to adopt a different tactical approach to counter Rivers United's strong defense and counter-attacking capabilities.
