Amapakabo Critiques Abia Warriors' Draw Against Rivers United

Imama Amapakabo, the head coach of Abia Warriors, lamented the team's goalless draw against Rivers United, describing it as "two points dropped" during their 2026/2027 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign. The match took place at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba on Sunday, resulting in Abia Warriors drawing three of their four home matches this season, accumulating nine points from eight games.

Amapakabo attributed the failure to score to poor offensive transitions and a lack of confidence among his players. He noted that the team has already dropped six points at home and expressed concern over their reliance on experienced forward Chukwuemeka Obioma, who has scored six goals and provided one assist this season.

Amapakabo urged younger players to take more responsibility in contributing to the team's scoring. Despite the disappointing result, he praised young defender Godwin Meyanga for his performance on his league debut and indicated a commitment to giving opportunities to promising youngsters in training.
