INEC Leadership Threatens Nigeria's Multi-Party Democracy

Rep Abdussamad Dasuki, a member representing Tambuw Kebbi Federal Constituency in Sokoto State, has accused the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), led by Prof Joash Amupitan, of becoming a significant threat to Nigeria's multi-party democracy. During an event where he joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dasuki alleged that INEC is colluding to stifle opposition parties and transform Nigeria into a one-party state.

He specifically criticized INEC's decision not to recognize the leadership of the ADC under David Mark, suggesting it is part of a broader scheme to undermine democratic principles and weaken opposition structures. Dasuki called on citizens, civil society organizations, and the international community to remain vigilant and defend democratic institutions.

He emphasized the importance of youth participation in politics and expressed his commitment to addressing Nigeria's socio-economic challenges through collaboration within the ADC.
