Adebayo Calls for INEC Chairman's Dismissal Over Lies

Adewol Adebayo, a former presidential candidate from the Social Democratic Party, has raised concerns about the integrity of Professor Joash Amupitan, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). During an interview on Channel Television, Adebayo expressed dissatisfaction with the trustworthiness of public officials, particularly in sensitive positions like that of the INEC Chairman.

He highlighted that Amupitan may face dismissal due to allegations of providing false testimony to the National Assembly. Adebayo noted that if Amupitan's sworn statements are proven to be false through proper investigation, including forensic checks, it could lead to serious consequences.

He emphasized that clear evidence contradicting Amupitan's statements could indicate dishonesty, which undermines the high level of trust and honesty required in managing elections in the country.
