Adebayo Questions INEC Chair Amupitan's Integrity

Adebayo, a former presidential candidate from the Social Democratic Party (SDP), has publicly questioned the integrity of Professor Joash Amupitan, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). His concerns stem from allegations regarding accounts linked to Amupitan, which he claims could undermine public confidence in the electoral process.

Despite Amupitan's denials, Adebayo insists that the situation raises serious questions about the credibility of the electoral body, which relies heavily on public trust. He noted that while digital content can sometimes be manipulated, there are technological tools available to verify the ownership of online accounts.

Adebayo clarified that even if the accounts were proven to belong to Amupitan, it would not automatically disqualify him from serving as INEC chairman, as the law permits individuals affiliated with political parties to hold such positions at the time of their appointment. He stressed that the central issue remains the honesty and integrity of the electoral process.
