Amupitan Accepts INEC Chair Role After Divine Assurance

Victoria Amupitan, the newly appointed Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), disclosed that he accepted the position after receiving a clear divine message from God, which provided him with the strength and assurance needed for the role. Speaking at a thanksgiving service in Abuja, he expressed gratitude for the opportunity and emphasized that he would not have accepted the appointment without spiritual conviction.

Amupitan highlighted the importance of divine guidance in leadership, particularly in the context of the upcoming 2027 general elections, where he aims to set new standards for electoral integrity. He acknowledged the challenges faced by INEC, including scrutiny over its neutrality and allegations of bias during the 2023 elections, but reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining political neutrality.
