Tobi Amusan Sets New Record with Gold in Taiwan

Tobi Amusan secured gold at a meet in Taiwan, achieving a remarkable time of 12.72 seconds, which established a new meet record, surpassing the previous record of 12.80 seconds set by America's Nia Ali last year. Amusan demonstrated her dominance by qualifying for the final without exerting much effort, finishing the race with a clear lead.

This victory is her second in two weeks, following her win at the Diamond League in Rabat, Morocco. The 29-year-old athlete has shown consistent form, finishing in the top two in her last three races.

She is expected to compete again on July 4 at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, where she previously set a world record time of 12.12 seconds in 2022.
