‘An Opportunist, Gasping For Political Oxygen’ – Presidency Knocks Babachir Lawal Over Attempt To Bait Tinubu

The Presidency has criticized former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, for his recent attempt to bait President Bola Tinubu in a Channels Television interview. Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, described Lawal as an opportunist gasping for political oxygen.

Dare stated that Lawal's outburst was a poorly scripted attempt to provoke Tinubu, noting that it was disrespectful to the office of the President. He highlighted Lawal's derogatory references and emphasized that such behavior was unacceptable.

Dare also mentioned Lawal's previous oath swearing that anyone who stood in Tinubu's way would face the wrath of God. The Presidency urged Lawal to stop denigrating the office of the President and focus on constructive engagement.
