Soludo Commissions 2.5km Road in Anambra State

On an unspecified date, Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo commissioned a newly completed 2.5-kilometer road project in Ichida, Anaocha Local Government Area, southeastern Nigeria. During the inauguration ceremony, Soludo renewed calls for public-private community partnerships (PPCP) to accelerate infrastructure development, citing the state's financial limitations in addressing infrastructure deficits independently.

He commended businessman and philanthropist Tochukwu Nzekw for funding the road project and encouraged wealthy indigenes to invest in their communities. Soludo noted that Anaocha has historically been at the forefront of community-led infrastructure development, referencing the late industrialist Tonima, who constructed an 18-kilometer road.

The governor explained that the PPCP framework allows the government to execute large-scale projects while encouraging community support for local development efforts. He linked the Ichida road project to a broader urban development strategy, which includes plans for four new cities to manage urban expansion and population growth over the coming decades.
