Anambra Lawmaker Henry Mbachu Joins YPP, Backs Chukwuma's Vision

Anambra State House Assembly member, Hon Henry Mbachu, representing Awka South constituency 1, has defected from the Labour Party (LP) to the Young Progressive Party (YPP). In a video broadcast, Mbachu cited careful consideration and assessment of the YPP candidate, Paul Chukwuma's manifesto, as the reason for his move.

He expressed confidence in Chukwuma's vision for a new Anambra State and pledged to work diligently for the YPP candidate in the upcoming November 8, 2025, governorship election. Mbachu highlighted the appeal of the YPP's manifesto to the youth and its comprehensive plan for the state.

His defection is aimed at realizing the collective interests of his constituents and supporting the best candidate with a suitable manifesto for Anambra State's development.
