Oby Orogbu Empowers 500 Constituents in Awka

Oby Orogbu, the member representing Awka North and Awka South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, empowered over 500 constituents through an initiative that provided vehicles, business equipment, vocational tools, and educational scholarships. The second phase of the empowerment programme, themed ‘Empowering Communities, Building Futures’, took place in Awka and was attended by numerous beneficiaries, political leaders, traditional rulers, and community stakeholders, including Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).

Beneficiaries received items such as cars, tricycles, sewing machines, and scholarships aimed at enhancing education. Orogbu expressed gratitude to her supporters from the 2023 general elections and emphasized the importance of sustainable empowerment in combating poverty and unemployment.

She announced plans for another round of empowerment scheduled for November 2026. Peter Obi praised Orogbu for her impactful representation and highlighted the need for genuine leadership that addresses poverty and insecurity.
