Lawmaker Orogbu Empowers Over 500 Residents in Anambra

Lawmaker Orogbu conducted an empowerment programme in Awka, Anambra, benefiting over 500 residents. The event featured traditional rulers, political leaders, and community stakeholders.

Beneficiaries received various items, including cars, buses, tricycles, motorcycles, sewing machines, and scholarships aimed at supporting transportation and small businesses. Orogbu stated that the initiative was designed to improve livelihoods and strengthen economic activities, acknowledging the support she received from over 36,000 constituents during the 2023 general elections.

She announced plans for another phase of the programme in November 2026 and encouraged those not included to remain patient. Peter Obi, former Anambra State Governor and NDC presidential candidate, praised Orogbu for her people-oriented representation.

Senator Victor Umeh commended her effectiveness and urged support for her re-election, citing her contributions to the constituency. The event concluded with the distribution of items and scholarships, which beneficiaries indicated would help them establish or expand businesses and improve their household incomes.
