Hon. Chri Emeka Azubogu, a former lawmaker representing Nnewi North/Nnewi South/Ekwusigo LGA in the House of Representatives, has resigned from the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

His resignation letter, dated December 29, 2025, cited reasons such as the party's failure to empower members and an alleged disconnect with constituents. APGA responded through Hon.

Anthony Muodielo, the chairman of Nnewi North LGA, stating that Azubogu's departure would not impact the party's fortunes. Azubogu's resignation comes amidst protests in Nnewi North against the alleged extension of the local government mayor's tenure, violating a rotational agreement.

Stakeholders assert that Azubogu's contributions to APGA were insignificant. The party maintains that Azubogu had not been active in party affairs earlier.
