Anambra Announces Soludo's Second Term Swearing-In Date

Anambra State has released the timetable for the swearing-in ceremony of Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo and his deputy, Dr.

Onyekachukwu Ibezim, set for Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10 AM at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka.

The ceremony will be preceded by an interdenominational service at the International Convention Centre, Awka, on March 15, 2026. A thanksgiving mass will be held at St.

Patrick's Cathedral, Awka, on March 22, 2026, at 10 AM. Prof.

Soludo was re-elected on November 8, 2025, under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, receiving a total of 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the Progress Congress, who garnered 99,445 votes. The Independent National Electoral Commission, led by Prof.

Edoba Omoregi, confirmed Soludo's victory. The swearing-in will include a guard of honour and an address to the people of Anambra State.
