Anambra Resident Doctors End Strike After Government Agrees to Demands

Resident Doctors at the Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital in Anambra State have ended their 7-day warning strike following negotiations with the state government. The strike was suspended after the government met the doctors' demands, including the release of the Medical Residency Training Fund and an upward review of the Consolidated Medical Salary Scale.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo also approved allowances for house officers and resolved outstanding issues related to specialist allowances and hazard pay. The decision to end the strike was made to ensure better working conditions for healthcare professionals in the state, addressing concerns over delayed payments and improved benefits.
