Anambra Resident Doctors Suspend Strike After Government Approval

The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital in Awka, Anambra, has suspended its warning strike following the government's approval of their demands. The strike, which began on Thursday, was called off after the government met the doctors' requests, including the release of the Medical Residency Training Fund and an upward review of the Consolidated Medical Salary Scale.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo also approved allowances and arrears for the doctors, demonstrating a commitment to improving working conditions in the healthcare sector. The ARD reaffirmed its dedication to working with the hospital management to implement the approved decisions for the benefit of both staff and patients.
