Anambra State Declared Safest in Nigeria by Soludo

In a live broadcast on Friday, Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State proclaimed the state as the safest in Nigeria, noting that there have been no major incidents in the past four months. He emphasized the restoration of normalcy across eight local government areas, with people returning to celebrate the festive season safely.

Soludo reported that Anambra has seen a daily influx of around 10,000 visitors, marking the best Christmas period in a decade. He addressed the impact of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and the previous sit-at-home orders that had disrupted public services, stating that schools, markets, and factories have resumed normal operations.

The governor outlined reforms aimed at enhancing security, including new legislation targeting cultism and the establishment of two new security outfits: the Agunechemba Special Intervention Force and a homeland security law. Despite his optimistic outlook, Soludo acknowledged that achieving perfect security is a continuous process.
