Anambra Approves ₦604m for Infrastructure Projects

Anambra State is set to witness the swearing-in of Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo and Deputy Dr.

Onyekachukwu Ibezim for a second term. The Anambra State Executive Council approved ₦604 million for key infrastructure projects aimed at enhancing social cohesion and economic growth.

Three primary events have been scheduled: an interdenominational service on March 15, the swearing-in ceremony on March 17, and a thanksgiving service on March 22. The council's decisions were made during its second meeting of 2026, held at the Lighthouse in Awka on March 2.

Significant projects approved include the construction of an IAAF standard five-lane track at Ekwulobia Stadium, road markings along newly constructed roads, and the establishment of various subcommittees to ensure smooth execution of these projects. The council also evaluated the sentencing of Anambra native Chidozi Nwangwu, known as Akwa K K Tiwara, for his role in the destruction of a shrine, as part of efforts to restore the state's moral order.
