Youths Burn Ekiti Police Station After Shooting Incident

On the evening of the incident, which occurred around 6 PM, angry youths in Ekiti protested against the police after a young man named Stephen Ayeni was shot while watching a football game. In response to the shooting, the youths stormed the police station and set it ablaze.

The police officer involved in the incident was reported to be in a coma and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital. The attack caused extensive damage, destroying several vehicles and leading to the burning of two vehicles inside the police station compound, while three additional vehicles were completely burnt outside the premises.

The Ekiti State Police Command has not released an official statement regarding the incident as of the time of reporting. Security personnel were mobilized to regain control of the area and restore calm after the attack.
