Former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from the hospital following a road accident that claimed the lives of two young men, Lateef Ayodel and Cina Gami, on December 29, 2025. The Lagos and Ogun State governments released a joint statement expressing condolences to the families of the deceased and describing the incident as tragic.

Joshua, who was accompanied by his mother, visited a funeral home in Lagos to pay his last respects to the deceased. The governments praised the medical team at Lagoon Hospital for their care and professionalism in treating Joshua and others injured in the accident.
