Anthony Joshua Discharged After Fatal Car Crash in Ogun, Two Close Friends Lost

Heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has been released from the hospital and declared fit to continue his recovery at home after a car crash in Ogun. The accident, which occurred on December 29, 2025, resulted in the loss of two of Joshua's close friends.

The Lagos and Ogun State governments have expressed condolences to the families of the deceased. Joshua's mother paid her respects at the funeral home in Lagos.

Governor Dapo Abiodun and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu thanked the public for their support. The crash, attributed to overspeed and wrong overtaking, involved Joshua's SUV colliding with a stationary truck along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
