Lagos PDP Suspends Bode George and 23 Members

The Lagos chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) announced the suspension of former Deputy National Chairman Bode George and 23 other members for alleged anti-party activities. This decision was made public on a Friday following a statement signed by Kayode Ogunbiyi, the chairman of the party's disciplinary committee, and Desmond Agbo, the committee's secretary.

The committee met on May 26, 2026, where it reviewed several petitions against notable members, including George, who has been a long-standing figure in Lagos politics and is aligned with Nyesom Wike's faction within the party. The committee stated that the actions of the suspended members were capable of causing disaffection among party members and that the party could no longer tolerate such conduct.

The statement emphasized that legal steps would be taken against any suspended member found acting contrary to the party's interests. Bode George could not be reached for comment as his phone was unavailable.
