APC Bauchi Caucus Forms Committee Over Defection Tensions

The APC Bauchi caucus has formed a special committee to handle issues related to Governor Bala Mohammed's potential defection from the People's Democratic Party (PDP). This decision follows a tense meeting in Abuja where members expressed sharp disagreements regarding the political implications of the governor's possible move.

Dabo Ismail, the committee leader, outlined the group's conditions and emphasized the importance of involving the APC's national leadership in the process. The committee will engage with stakeholders to discuss the situation and keep members informed of progress.

Ismail highlighted the need for a democratic mechanism to manage differing opinions and maintain party unity. However, concerns were raised by Senator Sama Ila Dahuwa, who criticized the APC national leadership for failing to consult adequately on this significant matter, warning against making decisions without proper engagement with party members.

The newly formed committee includes senior party figures, former governors, and two senators, reflecting a broad representation within the party.
