APC Bauchi Crisis Deepens Amid Failed Reconciliation Efforts

The crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State has intensified following the failure of a reconciliation committee, headed by Prof. Abdulkarim Abubakar Kana, to resolve disputes stemming from a recent state congress. The committee, mandated by national chairman Prof. Nentaw Yilwatda, aimed to address grievances related to the election of state executives.

However, a meeting held on Thursday at the party's secretariat ended inconclusively amid confusion and heightened tensions, particularly over the legitimacy of Mustapha Zurami as the elected secretary. A faction insists that Alhaji Aminu Na Iya Moham retains the rightful position.

The inability to resolve these issues threatens the party's participation in upcoming national conventions. Despite efforts to calm the situation, including a closed-door meeting that lasted only a few minutes, the factions remain divided.

The inauguration of 36 new state executive council members, including Alhaji Muhammad Hassan Tild as state chairman, further complicates the internal rift, raising concerns about the party's unity and future political activities.
