APC Candidates Triumph in Rivers State By-elections

In the recent by-elections held on February 21, 2026, in Rivers State, candidates from the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerged victorious in both the Khana and Ahoada East constituencies. Ukalikp Napoleon won the Ahoada East seat with a total of 3,980 votes, defeating his closest rival, Ego Marvel of the Action Alliance (AA), who garnered only 33 votes.

Other candidates received significantly fewer votes, including Godstim Egor of the Action Party of Nigeria (APN) with 38 votes and Oseja Clifford of the Boot Party (BP) with 11 votes. In the Khana constituency, Dinebari Loolo also from APC, secured 7,647 votes, defeating candidates from various parties, including the AA and NNPP.

The elections were conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) under peaceful conditions, despite a noted low voter turnout. Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara encouraged citizens to participate actively and peacefully in the electoral process.
