Fubara Congratulates APC Winners of Rivers Bye-Elections

On Tuesday, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State congratulated the winners of the recent bye-elections held on Saturday, which were conducted to fill two vacant seats in the state House of Assembly. The elections, overseen by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), resulted in victories for candidates from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada East Constituency 2 and Khana Constituency 2.

Fubara described the victories as deserving recognition and emphasized the importance of democracy, highlighting the peaceful conduct of the elections. The bye-elections were necessitated by the resignation of former representatives and the death of former lawmaker Dinebari Loolo in September 2023.

The new APC candidate, Bulabari Loolo, won the election for Ahoada East, while the Khana seat was also filled. Speaker Martin Amaewhul is expected to inaugurate the newly elected members soon.
