APC Chairman Discusses Wike Deal Amid Party Tensions

The APC Chairman addressed journalists in Abuja on Tuesday regarding the ongoing tensions within the party linked to a secret arrangement with Nyesom Wike of the PDP. He acknowledged the necessity of maintaining a working relationship with Wike despite the opposition party's affiliation.

The Chairman emphasized that the arrangement was not accidental but based on political understanding, and he assured that Wike's role within the APC-led administration would follow due process. He noted that the party is committed to stabilizing governance in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

However, this development has sparked internal disagreements among long-standing APC members, who are concerned about the influence of PDP defectors within the party structure. The Chairman urged members not to abandon the party due to pressure from new entrants and stressed the importance of unity in preparation for future elections.

He revealed that the party has earmarked 250 million Naira to conduct ward and state congresses in the FCT to support a transparent and credible electoral process.
