APC Chieftain Jamiu Ogundel Declares for Ogun Assembly Seat

Jamiu Ogundel, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and coordinator of the Citi Boi Movement in the Imeko Afon chapter, has formally declared his intent to contest for a seat in the Ogun State House of Assembly. During a stakeholders' meeting held in Imeko Afon Local Government Area, Ogundel pledged to mobilize 500,000 votes in support of President Bola Tinubu and the APC's gubernatorial candidate, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He expressed confidence in the youth's capacity to deliver substantial electoral support for the APC, citing data from the Independent National Electoral Commission that indicates Ogun State has 2.6 million registered voters, with 860,000 in Ogun West alone. Ogundel's decision to contest is driven by a desire to represent and amplify the voices of his constituents.

He aims to ensure that their needs are reflected at the legislative level and to champion policies that promote education and economic opportunities. The meeting also featured remarks from Damilola Oluwajubelo, who emphasized the importance of youth in the democratic process.
