APC Chieftain Petitions Against Senator Cyril Fasuyi

Basiru Ajibola Idowu, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, has submitted a petition to Prof. Nentaw Yilwatda, the APC national chairman, raising allegations of non-performance against Senator Cyril Fasuyi.

Idowu's petition, presented at the party's headquarters in Abuja on Friday, May 18, 2023, claims that Fasuyi has failed to provide a robust voice for his constituents in Ekiti North Senatorial District during his nearly three-year tenure in the National Assembly. The petition asserts that Fasuyi has not sponsored any landmark legislation beneficial to the people of Ekiti State and has made no significant contributions during floor debates, leaving his district without proper representation.

Idowu argues that the APC must purge itself of non-performing elements ahead of the 2027 general elections to support President Bola Tinubu's reform agenda. He insists that Fasuyi does not deserve to be a candidate in the upcoming primaries and urges the APC senatorial primary election screening committee to ensure that only competent aspirants are considered.
