APC Member Seeks Disqualification of Senator Fasuyi

Mr. Afuy Idowu, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has formally petitioned the party leadership to disqualify Senator Cyril Fasuyi from participating in the upcoming Ekiti North senatorial primaries scheduled for May 2, 2026.

The petition, addressed to the APC national secretariat in Abuja, accuses Fasuyi of underperforming during his three years in the Senate, failing to sponsor significant legislation, and not contributing meaningfully to debates in the National Assembly. Idowu claims that Fasuyi's actions have left the district without effective representation.

Furthermore, he alleges that Fasuyi has violated fundamental rights and has instigated the harassment of individuals following public assessments of his performance. Idowu also references an incident on July 31, 2025, where Fasuyi allegedly instigated the arrest of individuals by the Rapid Response Squad of the Ekiti State Police Command, which led to false allegations and subsequent detainment.

Idowu urges the APC leadership to ensure credible candidates emerge for the party's primaries ahead of the 2027 general elections.
