APC Elects Leaders in 287 Wards Across Jigawa State

The All Progressives Congress (APC) conducted ward congresses across Jigawa State, successfully electing leaders in 287 wards. The congresses were supervised by Shehu Muazu, who deployed the party's national headquarters in Abuja to commend the orderly conduct of the exercise.

Muazu also oversaw the screening and appeal committee visits to various wards to monitor proceedings, expressing confidence in the upcoming local government congress scheduled for Thursday, February 19. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a calm atmosphere during the elections.

The ward executive members were elected through a consensus method, fully aligning with the party's constitution, which allows for uncontested candidates to be adopted affirmatively. However, Muazu noted that this consensus approach does not preclude competitive elections in the future.

Haruna Aliyu Dangyatin, the Speaker of the Jigawa State House of Assembly and chair of the local organizing committee, praised Governor Umar Namadi for promoting inclusivity within the party, highlighting the need for transparency and fairness in allowing party members to contest.
