APC Councillors Urge Tinubu to Halt Smear Campaign

Councillors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) have addressed a letter to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other key officials, including the heads of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), and the Department of State Services (DSS). The letter, which was discussed during the Nigeria Progress Councillor Forum (NPCF) North West Zonal quarterly meeting in Kano, condemns a smear campaign against Senator Abdulaziz Yari, who is the current representative for Zamfara West and the chairman of the Nigeria Governors' Forum.

The councillors assert that the allegations against Yari, particularly regarding a seizure of 4.4 billion naira worth of raw gold at the Aminu Kano International Airport, are baseless and politically motivated. They emphasize that Yari has no pending corruption cases and call for an immediate cessation of these attacks, reaffirming their commitment to the APC and the Renewed Hope agenda.
