APC Elders Endorse Sadiq Umar for Kwara Governorship 2027

The APC Elder Caucus has officially endorsed Sadiq Umar as their preferred candidate for the Kwara governorship race scheduled for 2027. This decision was made public during a press conference held at the NUJ Secretariat in Ilorin on November 21, 2022.

The chairman of the APC Elder Caucus, Sir Jame Ayeni, emphasized that the endorsement was based on a thorough assessment of Umar's qualifications, character, and past performance in both private and public service. The caucus expressed confidence in Umar's ability to effectively occupy the exalted position of governor, highlighting his humility, cultural understanding, and social attributes.

They reiterated that the gubernatorial slot for the APC in 2027 should be allocated to the Kwara North senatorial district, ensuring fairness and justice in the political process. The endorsement reflects a collective decision made by the elder members of the APC in Kwara State.
