APC functions as platform for personal ambition, not political party – Olawepo-Hashim

Gbenja Olawepo-Hashim, a prominent figure in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for functioning as a platform for personal ambition rather than a political party with democratic principles. In an interview with AIT Democracy Today in Abuja, Olawepo-Hashim accused the ruling party of lacking ideology and internal democracy, making decisions without question from anyone but a select few.

He highlighted the economic hardships and worsening insecurity in Nigeria under the APC's leadership, contrasting it with the PDP's tradition of allowing open debate and internal disagreement to shape decisions. Olawepo-Hashim pointed out recent examples of PDP's internal dialogue and competitive primaries, urging Nigerians to demand stronger political institutions as the 2023 elections approach.
