“APC is not a political party; it is a cult”- Ex-presidential candidate declares

A former presidential candidate has declared the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as a "cult" rather than a political party, criticizing its lack of ideology, internal democracy, and coherent vision for Nigeria's future. Speaking during an interactive session with journalists in Abuja, the candidate highlighted the authoritarian nature of the APC, where only a few individuals give instructions that others must obey like "zombies." He pointed out the economic decline and worsening insecurity under the APC's rule, contrasting it with the consultative and democratic nature of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The candidate urged Nigerians to demand a higher standard of political organization and emphasized the importance of genuine democratic processes in securing better leadership for the country. The PDP was praised for its tradition of internal debates and accountability, contrasting it with the power-driven motives of the APC.
