ADC Criticizes Cross River Governance Under Otu

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has criticized the governance of Cross River State under Governor Bassey Otu, labeling it as retrogressive. Dr.

Effiong Nyong, the leader of the ADC in the state, expressed disappointment over the state's performance, stating it has fallen below average. He spoke to journalists in Calabar, lamenting that Cross River is no longer a progressive state and has experienced declines in key sectors such as education, sports, and tourism.

Nyong noted that the state, once regarded as a hub for quality education in Nigeria, has lost its competitive edge due to neglect and poor policies. He recalled the golden era of the state's tourism and sports, particularly mentioning the Rover Football Club of Calabar.

Despite receiving substantial federal allocations, Nyong argued that the state has failed to translate these resources into visible developmental outcomes. He reaffirmed the ADC's commitment to providing alternative leadership to restore accountability and development in Cross River State.
